Newsletter 28th July 2019

Today is the Seventeenth Sunday of the Church’s year.

From this week you will notice that we are using the name of the new Archbishop – John – in the Canon of the Mass.

The organists and the choirs will be taking a break until the beginning of September. Thanks for all their help during the year.

Also there will be a break in the classes for children during the 9.30 Mass.

The inscription forms are available for the First Holy Communion classes. Please return the forms as soon as possible so that I can order the class books.

I hope that you will be able to enjoy a holiday during these days. August is usually a fairly quiet month here and I hope to catch up on some work in the garden.

Wednesday is the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit Order.

It is good to see that the new London Bridge station may receive an architectural award. You will recall that during the construction period, this newsletter was able to provide you with regular updates on the various stages of the work.

Both the boy and his sister have birthdays during this coming week so lots of celebrations. Their mother is hard at work at the hospital so parties have to be fitted in with her off days.

The external painting of the house has been completed. I hope to be able to clean some of the external stonework with a pressure washer so that everything will look very smart. Apart from the painting, it was necessary to renew the wood fascia boards around the front garage as these had virtually rotted away.
